High Quality H2O: LifeStraw Experiences

LifeStraw is a filtration system that can provide you with clean, drinkable water from even the most disgusting sources.

Overall Rating

I rate LifeStraw products a 10/10. They have great products, and I have purchased 7 different products of theirs.

Summary

Inside of each LifeStraw water bottle is a filtration straw that has multiple stages. It will turn questionable water into drinkable water. Our Technology – LifeStraw Water Filters & Purifiers

I own the pictured water bottle, a purple-ish one for my wife, a 1L metal one for myself, a 1L plastic one for my wife, a tumbler, a glass pitcher, and the 18-cup dispenser. I have used all of these products and have never really found any issues.

Everyone who knows me, knows I have a sensitive stomach, especially when it comes to water in new places. I hate it, but it is what it is. As my recent Instagram post will show, my wife and I were in Disney World at the end of July. Hot and miserable time of year to go to Orlando. 2/10 don’t recommend. Anyway, I brought my LifeStraw, but tried to drink the free water from the Quick Service Restaurants.

Every time I had the water, I would end up in the bathroom. So, I switched to my LifeStraw. I had no issues for the rest of the trip. Not only was my stomach thrilled, so was my wallet because we saved so much money. If I didn’t have my LifeStraw, I would’ve had to buy bottled water.

I mentioned the Orlando heat at the end of July. My metal water bottle kept the ice around all day and I always had some nice, cool, high-quality H2O within arm’s reach. Seriously, it was a life saver for me.

LifeStraw Gripes

I have two gripes about the LifeStraws. One, the tops are kind of a pain. The cap twists the same way as the straw portion to open the bottle. This sometimes makes it difficult to open the bottle to put more water in. Especially if you’re sweaty or the bottle is wet. Second, if you don’t blow into the straw when you’re done, there is a chance that water will come up the straw and the next time you open it, water will get everywhere. Not terribly big inconveniences, but maybe they’ll fix those in the future.

I don’t love the plastic water bottles hey have. I’ve found that they don’t keep the water cool like the metal ones do, which makes sense. I just think if you’re going to buy a water bottle, buy the one that keeps your water cool.

The straw on the water bottles, including the tumbler, is not hard to use. My 2-year-old was easily able to drink from all of the bottles when we were in Disney and he was thirsty.

Lastly, I love these bottles because they filter out microplastics. Microplastics freak me out and I would like to ingest as few of them as possible.

What do you think? Do you like LifeStraw? Love their products? Hate them?
